General information

All documents are written in english for two reasons:

  • most of technical resources on the internet are in english

  • a large proportion of the documentation that you will write in the industry will be in english

The evaluation for both the computer science and the artificial intelligence course is based on two grades:

  • a single project grade based on a 40mn presentation by two students at the end of the semester graded partly by your professor and partly by the other students. The criteria are in the projects section.

  • a ‘participation’ grade based on your behavior in class and your conscientiousness: answering questions, showing interest, regular work between sessions, etc

There is NO exam grade, NO project report grade.

Check Moodle between every course to make sure to prepare what is required for the next session. A steady work is essential because most of the sessions build on the previous ones.

The main goal is to teach you how to learn new methods and tools. This is not an exhaustive course on the topic. The idea is to approach new tools with a defensive mindset:

  • first, learn the tool on the most basic examples where the expected results are obvious,

  • second, test and validate the code you write as thoroughly as possible,

  • third, never sweep the dust under the carpet

Important

Finally, most of the basic exercise can be successfully solved by LLMs. However, if you cut corners and do not hone your skills on basic exercises, you will not be able to advance to more advanced tasks. Every student will not advance at the same speed, and progress requires a tenacious mindset.

LLMs, in addition to documentations, are a great tool to learn. They are especially useful to explain consicely a concept, create some examples or custom exercises.
